WCS America Results (Group H)

The final Group of WCS America, it was plagued with early stream issues, but otherwise served a surprise result (against predictions), with puCK moving on instead of Sen, something that has become typical of the region.  You can watch the VODs here.

Game one Sen went gasless up to three hatches as MacSed went to four-gates and a quick third; Sen built a billion roaches and made a push at the third which accomplished nothing; he then built hydras and swarm hosts as MacSed started to build colossus and eventually void rays; MacSed went for warp prism harass in the main, which didn't do much damage, but allowed him to snipe the fourth; Sen took an engagement at the third which went poorly and after a short pause MacSed attacked and Sen tapped out.  In game two MacSed went forge fast expand as Sen went three-hatch before pool; MacSed went up to three bases as both played passively; MacSed made a gateway push as Sen did not yet have ling speed or many roaches and lost his third base and shortly after tapped out.

Two players whose names auto correct absolutely hates.  PuCK went for an oracle; SeleCT was prepared and pushed it away, but lost his reaper to a zealot through inattention; two oracles did limited harassment; SeleCT made a bio push without medevac's, but didn't accomplish much; PuCK went up to colossus as SeleCT double-dropped in the main, but only got a pylon before having to leave; he followed that with a four medevac drop that snipped the main; PuCK added charge and the two armies walked past each other, but SeleCT turned around rather than go for a base trade; PuCK split the Terran army by knocking down collapsible rocks and returned home after killing the third (sending all his zealots into SeleCT's main); PuCK returned with his army and rolled over SeleCT's remaining forces.  Game two SeleCT suicided his reaper without finding PuCK's tech choice (stargate and oracle again); SeleCT defended the oracle (double) again initially, but the Terran went for an identical bio push without medevacS before his turrets were ready and PuCK wrecked his mineral line; SeleCT pulled SCV's and got utterly destroyed; PuCK took a third, went up to colossus (adding a void ray to stop drops) and pushed the front, but couldn't break SeleCT's four-bunker defence initially, but the next attack ended the game.

In the first game MacSed went for three-gate pressure, but PuCK scouted it and was prepared; MacSed transitioned to stargate, building an oracle before going into phoenix; PuCK went for robo tech (then double robo) as he sat defensively; both players took third bases (MacSed adding a ninja fourth); MacSed added the fleet beacon (tempests) as PuCK added templars; PuCK moved out while taking a fourth, killing the third, but losing his army; MacSed's counter rolled over the fourth and third as PuCK went for desperation DTs--MacSed did not defend well against the DTs (forgetting his oracle and losing his robo), but the result of the game was not in doubt.  Game two PuCK went stargate and an early oracle which did a ton of damage; despite that, MacSed was faster in his colossus production and built an earlier third base; MacSed sat outside PuCK's natural; MacSed withdrew and PuCK took his third; DTs from MacSed didn't accomplish much; MacSed went for warp prism harass as the two armies engaged without a definitive result as MacSed's units wrecked the main; once the initial harassment was cleaned up PuCK fixed his sim city to make it much harder for MacSed to harass; the Chinese player killed the fifth, but PuCK took a good engagement and killed off most of MacSed's army and was able to roll to the win.  In the final game MacSed went for a proxy stargate which PuCK didn't scout, but had enough stalkers to hold off the oracle; PuCK's own oracle didn't do much either and he went for robo play yet again (MacSed did as well); MacSed made a gateway push and PuCK was forced to fight with probes, getting run over and forced to tap out.

Game one SeleCT floated to the gold and went for a bunker rush on Sen's natural and got the Terran a quick win.  In game two both players opened greedily with SeleCT going for a mine drop, but it didn't accomplish much (4 mines to kill 5 drones) and he lost his Polt-viking to queens almost immediately; SeleCT sent out a big drop, but only killed lings with it; Sen went for the usual muta/ling composition as he nabbed a quick fifth base; SeleCT held off the initial push from Sen, but wound up 60 supply behind and Sen killed the third and ran him over for the win.  In the final game SeleCT went for hellbat drops which, despite Sen scouting wasn't prepared for and it did a little economic damage; Sen built roaches and SeleCT severely supply-blocked himself as he was pressuring the third; Sen sent his roaches to the natural as SeleCT attempted another hellbat drop (which didn't do much) and simply got rolled over.

Game one Sen went for a quick three hatches as puCK went robo plus nine gates; Sen built roaches to defend the push while taking a fourth; puCK went up to colossus and a third base; Sen sent his roach army to the third but some sloppy control allowed puCK to hold (although he did lose his third); puCK moved out with a heavy-sentry army and killed the fourth and was able to slice off parts of Sen's roach army with various engagements around the map; Sen added corrupters, but given all the anti-air they died quickly and puCK rolled to the win.  In game two puCK opened with warp prism play with sentries, blocking off Sen's main as he went for a dark shrine; Sen's hydras in the main spawned in the middle of zealots and died; puCK killed the main and then went mass DT and Sen tapped out.

MacSed and puCK move on.
